On September 20, 2026, Barcelona will host the main day of the 12th International Festival of Ukrainian Culture, “Ucrania Fest.” As part of the festival program, Yurii Veres will present his documentary photobook Light Through the Ruins and perform on the main stage.
The event will take place at Virrei Amat Square from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. During the presentation, Yurii Veres will talk about the creation of the book, show selected photographs, and present its official edition to festival visitors.
The presentation will continue the author’s participation in the festival last year. In 2025, Yurii Veres presented the first pilot edition of Light Through the Ruins at “Ucrania Fest” in Barcelona. Since then, the book has been further developed and prepared for its official publication.
This year, festival visitors will have the opportunity to see the completed edition of the book, featuring more than 300 photographs taken by the author in different regions of Ukraine between 2022 and 2025.
In addition to presenting the book, Yurii Veres will perform several of his own songs on the festival stage.
“Ucrania Fest” is an international festival of Ukrainian culture held annually in Catalonia. It brings together Ukrainians, members of the Ukrainian diaspora, friends of Ukraine and local residents. The festival program includes music, dance, visual arts, workshops, exhibitions, film screenings and other cultural events.
The 12th International Festival of Ukrainian Culture “Ucrania Fest” will take place from September 15 to 26, 2026.
